Dear Art Patrons:
​Every time we print an Arts Quincy magazine, I marvel at the number of things there are to do, but no issue captures the vibrance and warmth of the arts quite like the holiday edition. 

The Quincy Area Youth Chorus is welcoming new members! Singers in grades 3-12 are invited to audition for the spring 2024 semester. Accepted singers will perform at their own concert on April 7 as well as join the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and Choruses for a spectacular finale performance of Carmina Burana on April 20.

​Arts Quincy is thrilled to unveil the expansion of its highly acclaimed Community Arts Access program for the upcoming school year. This initiative, generously funded by the Illinois Arts Council Agency, will extend its reach to children in grades K-5 across Adams County public, parochial and nontraditional schools. This collaborative endeavor, which involves numerous students, dozens of schools and several nonprofit arts and culture organizations, aims to enrich the lives of young learners through immersive arts experiences.

At Chaddock, we are always looking for new ways for our kids to experience life through art. Combining visual art making with other subjects like STEM are a great way for students to get a better understanding of these topics. According to the Institute for Educational Advancement, “Integrating hands-on activities and experiments into classroom instruction helps students remember concepts and aids in long-term retention of material.”

​The Quincy Public Library Outreach Services department currently serves over 170 patrons in the Quincy area on a bi-weekly basis delivering to individual homes and community living centers. ​

The sights and sounds of the holiday season will fill the air at the Quincy Senior High School Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 10.  Show times for QHS Vespers Concerts are 2 pm and 7 pm. The annual holiday concert will features High School Concert Orchestra, Concert Chorale, Concert Choir and Madrigal Choir.
The Quincy High School choirs, under the direction of Paul Shelor, will begin the program with the traditional Candlelight Processional. More than 150 choir members will perform “Come Singing Noel” followed by traditional carols surrounding the audience.

​Quincy Public Library is offering a program to connect readers across the city with the 2023 Quincy Community Read program! 
The QCR program is an initiative to broaden readers’ understanding of the world, our community and ourselves through the power of a shared reading experience. The goal is to cultivate meaningful conversations and bring the community together around important topics. ​
